As a trombone player, I can feel the relief in Joseph Alessi's face when the song ends...

I just can't get used to audiences that applaud BETWEEN movements. As for Joe Alessi, he's brilliant.

when my professor was learning this piece he said he contacted Joe and asked how he phrased and breathed because he was struggling to figure it out, Joe said he doesn't know because he literally changes it every time he plays.

Something that's funny to me is that during the percussion feature toward the beginning, I mistake the timpani player for a vibing trumpet player.

Sometimes my perfect pitch has trouble figuring out what notes Joseph Alessi is playing. His high range is absolutely wonderful and he makes it look so effortless that my brain fails to realize just how high he’s actually playing. 😂
A phenomenal trombonist that I really hope to meet someday.
